Seibiff Med Løk
Seibiff med Løk is a traditional Norwegian dish, featuring pan-fried cod fillets served with caramelized onions.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Potatoes - 4 large, boiled and mashed
- White wine vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Onions - 2 large, thinly sliced
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cod fillets - 4
Let's Get Started
- Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the cod fillets and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining butter and the sliced onions. Cook until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add the sugar and vinegar to the onions and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Serve the cod fillets with the caramelized onions and mashed potatoes.
