Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the water spinach thoroughly and cut into 2-inch pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the shrimp paste, minced garlic, sliced red chili peppers, soy sauce, and sugar to make the sambal sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced onion and stir-fry until translucent.
  5. Add the sambal sauce to the pan and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Add the water spinach to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until wilted and cooked through.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish with steamed rice.
