Salisbury Steak

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 oval patties.
  2. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Stir the slurry into the skillet and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Return the patties and mushrooms to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
  7. Serve the Salisbury steaks with the mushroom gravy.
