Sake Steamed Mussels
This is a delicious and easy to prepare recipe of mussels steamed in a savory sake broth.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Scallions - 4, thinly sliced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Sake - 1 cup
- Mussels - 2 pounds, cleaned and debearded
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the sake, soy sauce, and half of the scallions, and bring to a simmer.
- Add the mussels, cover the pot, and steam for about 5 minutes, or until the mussels have opened.
- Discard any mussels that have not opened.
- Serve the mussels in bowls, topped with the remaining scallions.
