Moules Marinières
Moules Marinières is a classic French dish consisting of mussels cooked in white wine and herbs, served with a side of fries.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Bay leaf - 1
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Parsley - 1 bunch, chopped
- White wine - 1 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2, finely chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Mussels - 2 kg, cleaned and debearded
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the mussels, wine, half of the parsley, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
- Cover the pot and increase the heat to high.
- Cook until all the mussels are open, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Discard any mussels that do not open.
- Sprinkle with the remaining parsley before serving.
