BBQ Sauce for Pulled Pork
This homemade BBQ sauce is perfect for pulled pork. It's tangy, sweet, and has a hint of whiskey for extra flavor. You can refrigerate it and then to use again, bring to room temp by leaving it out or microwaving for 15-20 seconds.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Salt - To taste
- Brown sugar - 3-4 tablespoons
- Whiskey - 2-4 ounces
- Black pepper - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic - 1 bulb, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato paste - 1/3 cup
- Onion - 1 large, diced
- Butter - 1 stick
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 quart
Let's Get Started
- Put all the ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a mild boil, stirring every two minutes.
- After it boils, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 3-4 hours to reduce the sauce down.
- Set a timer to stir every 15 minutes.
