Saag Gosht
Saag Gosht is a delicious and nutritious Indian dish that combines tender pieces of lamb with fresh spinach in a flavorful curry sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Tomato - 1 large, finely chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Spinach - 500 grams, washed and chopped
- Lamb - 500 grams, cut into pieces
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili to the pan and sauté for a few more minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the lamb pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped spinach to the pan and cook until it wilts.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the lamb is cooked through and the flavors are well combined.
- Serve the Saag Gosht hot with rice or naan bread.
