Rose Macarons

Ingredients - Serves 24
- Rose water - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Powdered sugar - 2 cups
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Pink food coloring - 2 drops
- Rose water - 1/2 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
- Egg whites - 3 large
- Powdered sugar - 1 3/4 cups
- Almond flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 300°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar and process until fine.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
- Add the rose water and food coloring and beat until combined.
- Gradually fold in the almond flour mixture until the batter is smooth and shiny.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the macarons are set.
- While the macarons are cooling, make the filling by beating the butter, powdered sugar, milk, and rose water until smooth.
- Once the macarons are cool, pipe the filling onto one macaron and sandwich with another.
