Let's Get Started

  1. Boil the milk in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the lemon juice to the milk and stir until the milk curdles.
  3. Drain the curdled milk and wash it under cold water to remove the lemon flavor. Squeeze out the excess water.
  4. Knead the milk solids into a smooth dough and divide into small balls.
  5. In a large pot, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the milk balls to the sugar syrup and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Add the cardamom powder and rose water and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let the rasgullas cool in the syrup before serving.
