Roasted Duck
A succulent, flavorful dish of roasted duck, perfect for a special dinner.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Orange - 1, quartered
- Fresh thyme - 2 sprigs
- Fresh rosemary - 2 sprigs
- Garlic cloves - 4, minced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Whole duck - 1 (4 to 5 pounds)
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse the duck inside and out, and pat dry. Cut off tail and discard.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Rub this mixture all over the duck, inside and out.
- Stuff the duck with the rosemary, thyme, and quartered orange.
- Place the duck, breast side up, on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Roast the duck in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the duck rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
