Crispy Roast Duck
A delicious and succulent roast duck recipe with a crispy skin.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Orange - 1, quartered
- Fresh rosemary - 2 sprigs
- Fresh thyme - 4 sprigs
- Garlic cloves - 4, crushed
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Whole duck - 1 (4 to 5 pounds)
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Rinse the duck inside and out, and pat dry. Cut off excess fat.
- Prick the skin all over with a sharp knife, especially the breast and thighs, being careful not to cut into the meat.
- Season the duck inside and out with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with the garlic, thyme, rosemary, and orange quarters.
- Place the duck breast side up on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Roast for 3 hours, or until the skin is crispy and the meat is cooked through.
- Let the duck rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
