Rice Noodle Roll
Rice Noodle Roll, also known as Cheung Fun, is a traditional Cantonese dish. It's a thin roll made from a wide strip of shahe fen (rice noodles), filled with shrimp, beef, vegetables, or other ingredients.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Scallions - 2, finely chopped
- Shrimp - 1/2 cup, peeled and deveined
- Rice noodle sheets - 4
Let's Get Started
- Prepare the rice noodle sheets as per the package instructions.
- In a pan, cook the shrimp until they turn pink. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the scallions and cook until they become fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, water, and cornstarch to make the sauce.
- Pour the sauce into the pan with the scallions and bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked shrimp back into the pan and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Place a small amount of the shrimp mixture onto each rice noodle sheet and roll it up tightly.
- Serve the rice noodle rolls with additional sauce on the side.
