Reindeer Meat

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the reindeer meat and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add the chopped onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well to coat.
  5. Add the browned reindeer meat back to the pot.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and red wine. Stir in the tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  8. Add the diced potatoes to the stew and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through.
  9. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
  10. Serve the reindeer meat stew hot and enjoy!
