Pulpo a Feira
Pulpo a Feira, also known as Galician octopus, is a traditional Spanish dish from Galicia. The octopus is boiled and served with potatoes, paprika, and olive oil.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sea salt - To taste
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Potatoes - 4 medium
- Octopus - 1 whole, about 2 kg
Let's Get Started
- Clean the octopus and remove the beak and eyes. Rinse well.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the octopus, dipping it in and out of the water three times before leaving it in the pot to cook.
- Boil the octopus for about 45 minutes, or until it is tender when pierced with a fork.
- While the octopus is cooking, boil the potatoes until they are tender. Drain and set aside.
- Once the octopus is cooked, remove it from the water and let it cool.
- Cut the octopus into bite-sized pieces and arrange it on a platter with the potatoes.
- Drizzle the octopus and potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with paprika and sea salt.
- Serve the Pulpo a Feira warm.
