Polvo Assado No Forno
This is a traditional Portuguese dish where the octopus is roasted in the oven with potatoes, garlic, and olive oil.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- White wine - 1 cup
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic - 6 cloves, minced
- Potatoes - 1 kg, peeled and cut into chunks
- Octopus - 1.5 kg, cleaned
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Place the octopus in a large pot with water and boil for about 20 minutes.
- Drain the octopus and place it in a baking dish.
- Add the potatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika to the baking dish and mix well.
- Pour the white wine over the octopus and potatoes.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes, or until the octopus is tender and the potatoes are golden.
