  1. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add the cooked quinoa, bell pepper, onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add the egg and mix until the mixture holds together when you form a patty.
  4. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until browned and heated through.
  6. Serve the burgers on the whole wheat buns with lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
