Pork Tonkatsu
Pork Tonkatsu is a Japanese dish which consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Tonkatsu sauce - For serving
- Vegetable oil - For deep frying
- Panko breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Pork loin chops - 4, about 1 inch thick
Let's Get Started
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured pork chop into the beaten eggs, then coat with the panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Fry the breaded pork chops until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
- Drain the pork chops on paper towels.
- Serve the pork tonkatsu with tonkatsu sauce.
