Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the rice and moong dal together and soak them in water for 10 minutes.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked rice and dal along with 4 cups of water.
  3. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until the rice and dal are well cooked and mushy.
  4. In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cashews. Fry until golden brown. Remove and keep aside.
  5. In the same pan, add black peppercorns, cumin seeds, grated ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
  6. Add the cooked rice and dal mixture to the pan and mix well with the spices.
  7. Add salt to taste and mix again.
  8. Garnish with fried cashews and serve hot.
