Let's Get Started

  1. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, ground pork, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the potato balls into the boiling water.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the pitepalt float to the surface.
  6. Remove the pitepalt from the water using a slotted spoon and drain well.
  7. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the drained pitepalt and cook until golden brown on all sides.
  8. Serve the pitepalt hot with lingonberry jam on the side.
