Köttbullar Med Potatismos
Köttbullar med potatismos, or Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, is a classic Swedish dish that is both comforting and delicious.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lingonberry jam - Optional, for serving
- Gravy - Optional, for serving
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Potatoes - 1kg, peeled and diced

- Egg - 1
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Ground beef - 500g
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the diced potatoes. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, and salt. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- Serve the köttbullar (meatballs) with the potatismos (mashed potatoes). Optional: Serve with gravy and lingonberry jam on the side.
