  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the diced potatoes. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, and salt. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
  7. Serve the köttbullar (meatballs) with the potatismos (mashed potatoes). Optional: Serve with gravy and lingonberry jam on the side.
