Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream, making sure to remove any lumps.
- Stir in the lingonberry jam and chopped parsley. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
- Serve the köttbullar med lingon hot, garnished with lingonberries. Enjoy!
