Pesto Pasta with Basil and Pine Nuts
This delicious pesto pasta is made with fresh basil, toasted pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pasta - 12 ounces
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Pine nuts - 1/4 cup, toasted
- Basil leaves - 2 cups, packed
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, toasted pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until well combined.
- While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until a smooth pesto sauce is formed.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat.
- Pour the pesto sauce over the pasta and toss until evenly coated.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the pasta is heated through.
