Pesarattu
Pesarattu is a popular breakfast dish from Andhra Pradesh, India. It's a type of dosa made from green gram and rice, served with coconut chutney or sambar.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - As required
- Onions - 2, finely chopped
- Salt - To taste
- Green chillies - 2
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Rice - 1/4 cup
- Green gram - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Soak the green gram and rice in water for 8 hours or overnight.
- Drain the water and grind the soaked green gram and rice along with ginger and green chillies to a smooth batter.
- Add salt to the batter and mix well.
- Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladle full of batter. Spread it in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
- Sprinkle some chopped onions on top and press gently with the spatula.
- Drizzle some oil around the edges and cook until the bottom side turns golden brown.
- Flip the dosa and cook for another minute.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
