Pepper Steak
A savory, hearty main dish of stir-fried beef and bell peppers in a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Beef sirloin - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper.
- Return the beef to the skillet and add the soy sauce mixture. Stir well to coat the beef and vegetables in the sauce.
- Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the pepper steak over rice or noodles, if desired.
