Ojing Eo Jeot
Ojing Eo Jeot is a traditional Korean side dish made with fermented squid and spicy seasonings.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Gochugaru (korean red pepper flakes) - 2 tablespoons
- Squid - 2 medium-sized, cleaned
Let's Get Started
- Slice the squid into thin strips.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gochugaru, fish sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, chopped green onions, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds. Mix well.
- Add the sliced squid to the bowl and toss until the squid is well coated with the spicy seasoning mixture.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for better flavor.
- Serve the Ojing Eo Jeot as a side dish with steamed rice or as a topping for bibimbap.
