Natillas
Natillas is a traditional Spanish dessert, similar to custard, made with milk, sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Eggs - 4
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 4 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and cornstarch until smooth.
- Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
- Pour the mixture into serving dishes and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
