Nashville Hot Chicken Burger

Let's Get Started

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and half of the hot sauce. Add the chicken breasts and let marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In another bowl, combine the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Fry the chicken in the hot oil until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the remaining hot sauce with a tablespoon of the frying oil to make the Nashville hot sauce.
  7. Brush the cooked chicken with the Nashville hot sauce.
  8. Serve the chicken on the buns with pickles and coleslaw.
