A hearty sandwich featuring slow-cooked brisket, tangy coleslaw, and a spicy BBQ sauce, all piled high on a soft bun.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Buns - 4
- Coleslaw - 2 cups
- Bbq sauce - 1 cup
- Brisket - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 300°F.
- Season the brisket with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Add the brisket and sear on all sides until browned.
- Pour the BBQ sauce over the brisket, cover the pot, and transfer to the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.
- Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain.
- To assemble the sandwiches, spread a generous amount of BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Top with slices of brisket and a heap of coleslaw. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the sandwiches warm, with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
