Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for 10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
  3. Add the flour, salt, vegetable oil, yogurt, and beaten egg to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it's smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium heat.
  7. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle.
  8. Cook each piece of dough for 2-3 minutes on each side, until it puffs up and gets charred spots.
  9. Brush each piece of naan with melted butter before serving.
