Soft, fluffy, and buttery dinner rolls perfect for any meal.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- All-purpose flour - 3 to 3 1/2 cups
- Egg - 1
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Melted butter - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Active dry yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons
- Warm water - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
- Add the sugar, butter, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and brush with additional melted butter, if desired. Serve warm.
