Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the baking soda.
  7. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long rope and shape it into a pretzel.
  8. Carefully place the pretzels, one at a time, into the boiling water for 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a greased air fryer basket.
  9. Brush the pretzels with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  10. Air fry the pretzels for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
