Moong Dal Tadka

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the moong dal under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, add the moong dal, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the dal is soft, about 20 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add the minced garlic and chopped green chili to the pan and sauté until the garlic is golden brown.
  5. Add the red chili powder to the pan and stir well.
  6. Pour the ghee and spice mixture (tadka) over the cooked dal and stir well.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
