Mocochinchi
Mocochinchi is a traditional Bolivian drink made from dried peaches and spices. It's a sweet, refreshing beverage perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Water - 8 cups
- Dried peaches - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Place the dried peaches in a large pot and cover with the water.
- Add the cinnamon stick and cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 hours, or until the peaches are soft and the liquid has reduced by half.
- Remove from the heat and add the sugar, stirring until it's fully dissolved.
- Stir in the lemon juice, then let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the peaches to extract as much juice as possible.
- Serve the mocochinchi over ice, garnished with a slice of lemon if desired.
