Mee Pok
Mee Pok is a classic Singaporean dish made with flat egg noodles, minced meat, and a flavorful chili sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Spring onions - For garnish
- Lard - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Chili sauce - To taste
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chinese black vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Bean sprouts - 1 cup
- Fish balls - 8
- Minced pork - 200 grams
- Flat egg noodles - 400 grams
Let's Get Started
- Blanch the noodles in boiling water until they are soft, then drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, boil the fish balls until they float to the top, then remove and set aside.
- In a pan, heat the lard and sauté the garlic until it is fragrant.
- Add the minced pork to the pan and cook until it is no longer pink.
- Add the soy sauce, vinegar, and chili sauce to the pan and stir to combine.
- Add the noodles to the pan and toss to coat them in the sauce.
- Add the bean sprouts and fish balls to the pan and stir to combine.
- Serve the noodles hot, garnished with spring onions.
