Gobi Manchurian
Gobi Manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese dish made with crispy fried cauliflower tossed in a spicy, tangy Manchurian sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - For frying
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Red chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Cornflour - 1/2 cup
- Cauliflower - 1 medium, cut into florets
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and water to make a thick batter.
- Dip the cauliflower florets in the batter and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain and set aside.
- In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden.
- Add the spring onions and sauté for a minute.
- Add the soy sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, and vinegar. Mix well.
- Add the fried cauliflower florets to the pan and toss well to coat with the sauce.
- Cook for a couple of minutes, then serve hot garnished with spring onion greens.
