Chili Crab

Chili Crab is a seafood dish popular in Singapore. It is made with mud crabs that are stir-fried in a semi-thick, sweet and savory tomato and chili based sauce.

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and chilies and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the crabs and stir-fry for another 5 minutes, until they start to turn red.
  4. Add the ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Stir well to coat the crabs in the sauce.
  5. Cover the wok and simmer for 10 minutes, until the crabs are cooked through.
  6. Slowly pour in the beaten eggs, stirring constantly, until the eggs are cooked and the sauce is thickened.
  7. Sprinkle with the chopped spring onions and serve.
