Mee Goreng
Mee Goreng is a popular Malaysian stir-fried noodle dish packed with flavors and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Bean sprouts - 1 cup
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Cabbage - 1 cup, shredded
- Yellow noodles - 8 ounces, cooked and drained
- Egg - 2, beaten
- Chicken breast - 1, thinly sliced
- Shrimp - 8 ounces, peeled and deveined
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add shrimp and chicken breast, and stir-fry until cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Push the shrimp and chicken to one side of the wok, and pour beaten eggs onto the other side. Scramble the eggs until cooked.
- Add cooked yellow noodles, cabbage, carrot, and bean sprouts to the wok. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Pour the sauce over the noodles and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes to combine all the flavors.
- Remove from heat and serve hot. Garnish with chopped green onions and sliced red chili, if desired.
