Meat Pie
A hearty and delicious meat pie filled with a savory blend of ground beef, vegetables, and spices, all encased in a flaky pastry crust.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Pie crust - 2 sheets
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Carrots - 2, chopped
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, carrots, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink.
- Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Line a pie dish with one sheet of the pie crust. Spoon the meat mixture into the crust.
- Cover with the second sheet of pie crust. Trim and crimp the edges, then cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Let the pie stand for 5 minutes before serving.
