Mandugai Soup
Mandugai soup is a traditional Korean dumpling soup filled with delicious flavors and hearty ingredients.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetables (optional) - Carrots, mushrooms, spinach, etc.
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 4, chopped
- Tofu - 1/2 cup, diced
- Ground beef or pork - 1/2 pound
- Beef or chicken broth - 4 cups
- Dumplings - 20 pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, bring the beef or chicken broth to a boil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or pork, tofu, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling mixture onto each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges by pressing firmly.
- Add the dumplings to the boiling broth and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- If using vegetables, add them to the soup and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Slowly pour the beaten egg into the soup while stirring gently to create egg ribbons.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
