Lentil Patties with Garlic Sauce
These hearty lentil patties are packed with protein and flavor. Paired with a creamy garlic sauce, they make a delicious vegetarian main course.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Greek yogurt - 1 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- For the garlic sauce -
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Egg - 1
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Carrot - 1, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Green lentils - 1 cup, dry
Let's Get Started
- Cook the lentils according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked lentils, onion, garlic, carrot, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, make the garlic sauce. In a small bowl, combine the garlic, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- Serve the lentil patties with the garlic sauce on the side.
