Nam Tok
Nam Tok is a flavorful Thai salad made with grilled meat, fresh herbs, and a tangy dressing.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Toasted rice powder - 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup
- Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
- Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
- Beef steak - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the steak to your desired level of doneness, then let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the steak into thin strips, making sure to capture any juices that run out.
- In a large bowl, combine the lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and chili flakes. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the sliced steak (and its juices) to the bowl, along with the shallots, mint, cilantro, and toasted rice powder.
- Toss everything together until well combined.
- Serve the salad at room temperature, with extra lime wedges on the side if desired.
