Krpice Sa Zeljem
Krpice sa zeljem is a traditional Croatian dish made with homemade pasta and sautéed cabbage.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Bacon - 4 slices, chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Cabbage - 1 small head, shredded
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Eggs - 2
- Flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, and water. Knead until a smooth dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface until thin. Cut into small squares or strips.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook until wilted and slightly caramelized.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine with the cabbage mixture.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
