Kinilaw
Kinilaw is a traditional Filipino dish made with raw fish or seafood marinated in vinegar, citrus juice, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cucumber - 1 medium, sliced
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Chili peppers - 2 pieces, sliced
- Ginger - 1 thumb-sized piece, minced
- Red onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Calamansi juice - 1/4 cup
- Vinegar - 1/2 cup
- Fresh fish or seafood - 500 grams, cubed
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine vinegar, calamansi juice, red onion, ginger, chili peppers, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the cubed fish or seafood to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Before serving, add the sliced cucumber, diced tomato, and chopped cilantro to the marinated fish or seafood. Mix gently to combine.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
