Kimchi Jeon
Kimchi Jeon, or Kimchi pancake, is a traditional Korean dish made with fermented kimchi and flour batter. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1
- Water - 3/4 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Kimchi - 1 cup, chopped
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped kimchi, flour, water, egg, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Pour the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the top of the batter.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the pancake over and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown.
- Remove the pancake from the pan and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Serve hot with a side of soy sauce for dipping.
