Kimbap
Kimbap is a popular Korean dish made with seasoned rice, vegetables, and meat rolled in seaweed.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Pickled radish - 4 strips
- Ham or cooked beef - 8 slices
- Eggs - 4, beaten and cooked into thin omelettes
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Carrots - 1 medium, julienned
- Seaweed sheets - 4 sheets
- Sushi rice - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Prepare the sushi rice according to package instructions.
- Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat.
- Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a small border at the top.
- Arrange the julienned carrots, cucumber, cooked omelette, ham or beef, and pickled radish in a line across the rice.
- Roll the kimbap tightly using the bamboo mat, applying gentle pressure to secure the filling.
- Brush the outside of the rolled kimbap with sesame oil.
- Slice the kimbap into bite-sized pieces.
- Serve with soy sauce for dipping and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
