- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Spring onions - 4, chopped

Let's Get Started
- Rinse the jasmine rice and soak it in water for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the ginger slices and minced garlic.
- Add the fish fillets to the boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove the fish from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the soaked jasmine rice and cook for 10 minutes, or until the rice is soft and cooked.
- While the rice is cooking, flake the cooked fish into small pieces.
- Once the rice is cooked, add the flaked fish back into the pot. Stir in the chopped spring onions, cilantro, fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer the soup for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the Khao Tom Pla hot, garnished with additional chopped cilantro and spring onions, if desired.
