Keema Pulao with Basmati Rice

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add the whole spices and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chili. Sauté for a minute.
  5. Add the minced meat and cook until it changes color and is no longer pink.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Add the soaked and drained basmati rice to the pot. Stir gently to combine with the meat mixture.
  9. Pour in the water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  10. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
  11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
