Keema
Keema is a traditional South Asian dish made from minced meat, usually mutton, beef or chicken, and a blend of spices. It's a versatile dish that can be served with rice, bread or as a filling for samosas or naan.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Green chillies - 2, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 2, finely chopped
- Onions - 2, finely chopped
- Minced meat - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for a few more minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies to the pan and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the minced meat to the pan and cook until it changes color.
- Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few minutes until the spices are well blended with the meat.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked and the flavors are well combined.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
