Kapsalon
Kapsalon is a popular Dutch fast food dish made with layers of fries, shawarma meat, melted cheese, and various toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sriracha sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic sauce - 1/4 cup
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Tomatoes - 2, diced
- Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
- Gouda cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Shawarma meat - 8 ounces
- Frozen fries - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package.
- Spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven until golden and crispy.
- While the fries are baking, cook the shawarma meat in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large oven-safe dish.
- Top the fries with the cooked shawarma meat and sprinkle the shredded Gouda cheese over the top.
- Place the dish back in the oven and bake for a few minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- In the meantime, prepare the toppings by combining the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onion in a bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the garlic sauce and Sriracha sauce.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Top the cheesy fries and shawarma with the prepared lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion.
- Drizzle the garlic and Sriracha sauce mixture over the top.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Kapsalon immediately and enjoy!
