Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and sliced carrots. Cook until the vegetables are slightly softened.
  4. Return the beef cubes to the pot and sprinkle with flour. Stir well to coat the beef and vegetables.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and red wine. Add the bay leaves and allspice berries. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  7. Add the cubed potatoes to the pot and continue simmering for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through.
  8. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
